Revised plans for gclimbing.com, scribblingspree.com
2011-11-06
Some time ago I posted my plans for gclimbing.com - The bad news is: I am not going to make it. In fact I probably won’t finish any of the three tasks.
Javascript
2011-10-27
After my first contact with JavaScript (I think during University, maybe even earlier) I hated it. I thought it was a mess. And since that time, I never really wanted to learn it. I avoided writing JS code whenever possible. When there’s so much left to learn it is easy to skip on things that seem uninteresting.

Android: Simplified resources

The mood of the internet
2011-10-17
Apparently somebody had the same idea Rene and I had back in 2007: A site where people can post their current mood - moodbe.at. The design looks really nice. I wish those guys all the best - maybe they can turn the concept into something successful.
The backlog for my side projects
2011-10-13
This article is part of the “Side Projects” mini-series.
For gclimbing and JSXP I use a very simple backlog: It is just a paper notebook. I use one single notbook for planning everything related to gclimbing: The backlog itself, the software design and architecture, web framework (JSXP) issues, UX design, etc. Here are a few example pages from this notebook to show how my backlog is organized:
DroidCon UK - Day Two
2011-10-07
Another great day at DroidCon UK! (Here is day one)
First I want to talk about the low points. Today a lot of slides were noticeably worse than yesterday. Many speakers had text-only slides. The winner in this category was cisco: The slides in their keynote were crammed with graphics and unreadably small text, all whacked together in an ugly design. The delivery was not very good as well. The HTC keynote was quite good for the first half, but the second half was “death by powerpoint”. Lots of code on slides - do I have to say any more?
